Hallowe'en is supposed to fall on a cool, crisp Saturday (or at least a Friday), with a full moon. This year Hallowe'en decided to fall on a Thursday half-way between the New Moon and the First Quarter. When Hallowe'en has the temerity to fall on a Thursday, which is the "official" Hallowe'en weekend? The weekend before seems so long before, and the weekend after, well, it's after, y'know? So we decided the best time to celebrate Hallowe'en is the weekend before, the weekend after, and the week in between.
